Kyoto Oishi Tengudo is a long-established Kyoto karuta manufacturer founded in the early Meiji period (1870s). They offer a wide range of Japanese cultural products, including Hyakunin Isshu and competitive karuta, as well as educational and decorative karuta and hanafuda cards. They manufacture official karuta approved by the All Japan Karuta Association, and are used in official tournaments such as the Meijin and Queen tournaments. With high-quality craftsmanship by artisans and the symbolic Tengu mark, they continue to pass on Japanese karuta culture to the present day.
