Nigo presents the latest chapter in his ever-evolving collaborative relationship with adidas Human Made was founded by Nigo in 2010, serving as the primary apparel and footwear-focused venture for the visionary designer, photographer, curator and music producer. Under the Human Made banner, Nigo continues to create products that are unmistakeably his own. Human Made is both grounded in the functionality of vintage Americana and elevated by Nigo’s instinctive understanding of youth culture as it continues to evolve.

Hip-hop has always been a core influence in Nigo’s work, and so it seems fitting that the latest team-up between adidas and their long-term collaborator should be in celebration of the adidas Superstar. Worn with pride in the eighties hip hop scene and immortalised in verse by Run DMC, 2020 sees the ageless shoe still going strong as it enters its 50th year.

The Human Made Superstar focuses on the three most iconic Superstar colorways, applying a host of subtle and not-sosubtle design flourishes to white, black and black & white versions of the shoe. The Human Made heart logo is presented in eye-catching red on the heel, but also in a stripped-back, perforated form between the three stripes. The brand’s slogan, ‘Gears For Futuristic Teenagers’ also appears: a slogan that could apply not only to Nigo’s own multi-disciplinary output but also this most enduring of street-ready adidas shoes. Here, it is written proudly across the three stripes themselves, in a way that embodies just how close the partnership between adidas and Nigo has become after all this time.

adidas Originals x Human Made collection will be launching via Online Raffle on 20th Apr, 6pm onwards. 
Winners will be announces on 24th Apr, latest by 10am.
