Crossover® x Compass® x FDMTL™ : Velocity® Sashiko Weaving Stories and Sustainability

Crossover® presents its latest collaboration with the release of Velocity® Sashiko, a global collection created together with FDMTL™, a Japanese denim brand, and Compass®, a Indonesia shoe maker. Behind the design, inspired by the spirit of craftsmanship, lies a process deeply considerate of the environment. The fabric was developed in partnership with Craft Denim from Pekalongan, Indonesia — a local textile producer known for its expertise in hand-weaving and natural indigo dyeing.

The production incorporates an internal waste-management system that separates clean water from sediment. The recycled water is reused for washing and dyeing, allowing up to 67% of total water to be recycled — meaning each meter of fabric requires only around 700 milliliters of water.

More than a collaboration project, Velocity® Sashiko is a reflection of how ideas can bridge distance, and how creation can weave meaning from many directions.

From Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo, and finally to Bandung, this collaboration grew gradually, built on trust and shared values. Compass® brings its iconic Velocity® silhouette, while FDMTL™ adds character through the traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching technique, a craft symbolizing perseverance and resilience. Acting as the bridge, Crossover® opens the space for exchange: connecting perspectives, cultures, and craftsmanship across borders.

This approach represents a spirit of collaboration that unites not only three countries, but also three creative philosophies — each honoring process, caring for impact, and staying rooted in their cultural heritage.

Just as Sashiko means “to stitch little by little,” this collaboration celebrates process and persistence – a meeting of three cultures connected by the shared rhythm of craftsmanship.

Velocity® Sashiko comes in three exclusive colorways for each country —Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan — with each silhouette released separately. The collection also includes the Sashiko Jersey, available in two main colors: blue and black.

The Malaysia-exclusive Velocity® Sashiko will be released on this Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at Crossover® Flagship The Exchange TRX & SouthKey store in Johor Bahru with First Come First Served Basis.
